Pierpaolo Donvito, born in Trieste in 1959, was called up for military service in June 1981. He attended basic training at the Basic Training Centre (CAR) with the Infantry Company of the Trieste Troops Command and was subsequently assigned to the 2nd Rifle Company of the 1st Motorised Infantry Battalion “San Giusto”, where he served as an assault squad commander.
At that time, the unit was based on local and regional recruitment, similarly to Alpini, Lagunari and “d’arresto” units, relying on personnel with in-depth knowledge of the territory and readily available for emergency call-up.
He was discharged in June 1982. After various professional experiences, he served for many years as president and managing director of a production and labour cooperative. He nevertheless remained connected to the military sphere through veterans\u2019 associations, taking part in numerous international military patrol competitions. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
