Piero Pastorello, born in Zevio (Verona) in 1965, lives in Trieste.
He performed his military service from 2 July 1991 to 1 October 1992. He attended the 144th AUC Course at the Artillery School in Bracciano, within the Mountain Artillery Battery, qualifying as a distinguished cadet. He carried out his first assignment as a Second Lieutenant at the Military Centre for Strategic Studies (CeMiSS), located at Palazzo Salviati in Rome, serving as a researcher. His work focused on analyses concerning the defence industry, surveillance and communication systems, transatlantic cooperation, rapid reaction forces, air power, and the national defence model. He contributed to the Centre’s publications, including “Summary of the Defence Model presented to Parliament on 26 November 1991” and “Situation Developments in the Territories of the Former USSR”. In 2025, he was promoted to the rank of Captain.
Holding a degree in Political Science and author of numerous essays, since February 2003 he has been employed in the Sales Department of Leonardo S.p.A., Electronics Division, within the Unmanned Aerial Systems and Simulators Business Unit in Ronchi dei Legionari (Gorizia)—working in the Unmanned Systems area until 2016 and in the Simulation area from 2017 to the present. He is a member of the Italian Society for Military History (SISM), the National Alpini Association (Verona and Trieste Sections), and the Italian Air Force Association (Verbania Section), as well as an honorary member of the “Lupi di Toscana” Association (Milan Section).
